The Bedford Refuse Wagon was introduced in 1948 as the model 25v and subsequently renumbered to 252 in 1954.
Light brown with green shutters was the colour scheme for the early models.
More colour combinations were added after 1954 but the common colour was brown & green. Later versions included plastic windows.
There was also a size variation in the baseplate identification markings.
Moving parts were added to the model such as a crack that would raise the garbage haul and the shutters would open and close.
Model #25v was issued between 1948-54 and Model #252 was issued between 1954-65.
